Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Swaply mobile application ("Swaply", "the app", "we", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use it on your iPhone or iPad. Swaply is a currency converter that shows live exchange rates and lets you convert amounts between currencies. By installing and using Swaply, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to this Policy.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to the Swaply app published on, and made available through, the Apple App Store. It does not apply to any third-party websites, services or applications you may access through Swaply. Links to the privacy policies of third parties are provided in Section 7.

Swaply does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or supply any personal information in order to convert currencies or view exchange rates.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the app, fix crashes, measure usage and process purchases. We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, physical address, precise geolocation, photographs, contacts, microphone audio, or any other directly identifying information.

2.1 Technical identifiers

Swaply relies on pseudonymous identifiers generated by the services it uses, rather than on your identity:

2.2 Device and app information

For analytics, crash reporting, and error diagnostics we collect technical information:

2.3 Usage analytics

We collect aggregated, non-identifying events describing how you interact with the app: which screens you open, how often you perform conversions, which currency pairs you add to favourites, and whether you accept or decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt. These events are used to improve the app, evaluate feature popularity and run product experiments. The amounts you type and the currencies you convert are processed on your device and are not transmitted to us, and these events do not contain personal information.

2.4 Purchase data

Swaply offers in-app purchases and an auto-renewable subscription (Swaply Pro). All transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive the transaction status and entitlement information (which products you own) through RevenueCat and use this data to deliver your purchases and restore them when you reinstall the app. We do not see or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID.

Automatic renewal. The Swaply Pro subscription renews automatically at the end of each paid period unless you cancel it no later than 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID upon confirmation of the purchase and upon each subsequent renewal. You may manage your subscription and disable auto-renewal at any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription — it must be cancelled separately through the settings section above. The lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-consumable purchase and does not renew.

2.5 Crash and diagnostic reports

If the app crashes or encounters a non-fatal error, Firebase Crashlytics collects a diagnostic report that typically includes a stack trace, the device model, the iOS version, the app version, and an installation identifier specific to the crash.

2.6 Exchange-rate requests

To display up-to-date rates, Swaply periodically downloads currency exchange-rate data from a third-party rate provider (ExchangeRate-API, open.er-api.com) over an encrypted HTTPS connection. These requests carry only standard technical metadata (such as your IP address, which is visible to any web server, and the app version). They do not include any personal information, the amounts you enter, or the identifiers described in Section 2.1.

2.7 App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On first launch we present Apple's standard App Tracking Transparency prompt. Your choice determines whether your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used by analytics and attribution. Swaply does not currently display third-party advertising.

If you select "Ask App Not to Track":

You may change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

Swaply has no sign-up, login, or user-profile functionality.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described in Section 2 solely in order to:

We do not sell or rent your information to third parties.

5. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:

6. Your Rights

Depending on your country of residence, you may have the following rights:

Because Swaply does not collect direct identifiers, we may require your RevenueCat App User ID or Firebase installation ID to locate data relating to you. To exercise any of these rights, please write to us using the address in Section 13.

Residents of California are afforded additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell or "share" personal information within the meaning those terms are given under the laws of California.

8. Data Retention

On your device. Your settings, favourite currency pairs, the last downloaded rates and RevenueCat service markers are stored locally in iOS storage (UserDefaults) and in the iOS Keychain. They are removed when you delete the app.

With third-party services. Analytics, transactional data and crash reports are stored by the third parties in Section 7 in accordance with their own policies.

On request. You may at any time ask us to delete data associated with your identifiers (see Section 6).

9. Children's Privacy

Swaply is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Data Security

We apply commercially reasonable measures to protect data, including:

No method of transmitting data over the Internet or of storing it electronically can be regarded as wholly secure. The developer cannot guarantee the absolute security of the information processed, as the associated risks are caused by factors beyond the developer's reasonable control.

11. International Data Transfers

The third-party services listed in Section 7 are operated by companies in the United States, the European Union and other regions. When you use Swaply, some of the data described in Section 2 may be processed outside your country of residence. Those providers apply appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) in accordance with the data protection laws applicable to them.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app, in the SDKs we use, or in applicable law. For material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, provide additional notice inside the app. Continued use of Swaply after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
